Apprenticeships can be undertaken by anyone, providing you:

Do not have a Level 4 qualification
You will achieve qualifications in your desired field of work by combining on-the-job training with study at Great Yarmouth College and by learning the practical and underpinning skills to carry out your job effectively and safely.
Here at GYC we cover many different areas including:

An Apprenticeship combines three elements which must be completed in order to achieve your qualification.
These elements are an NVQ, a technical certificate or underpinning knowledge and the appropriate level functional skills for your chosen industry.
An NVQ will be carried out in the workplace where you will put together a portfolio of evidence and be assessed on your competence in your chosen field of work.
A technical certificate and functional skills will be carried out at the College or in the workplace.
To be eligible you will have a minimum of 4 GCSE’s at grade D or above, or the equivalent, in a range of subjects preferably including Maths and English Language, (or have suitable workplace experience) and you must be employed in the industry.
